
Keeping Bathroom Heaters Warm, Safe, and Dry
When we designed these infrared lamps, we were trying to solve a pretty annoying problem. You want that intense, cozy heat in a steamy bathroom, but you don’t want a light so bright it feels like you’re staring into the sun—especially when you’re bathing a baby.
Soft light, real heat
Most short-wave lamps have this harsh, blinding glare that’s just too much. To fix that, we used special quartz coatings and filtered filaments. Basically, we pushed the light away from that sharp blue spectrum and leaned hard into the infrared side. The result? You feel the heat on your skin, but the light stays soft and gentle. No squinting, no retinal stress. Just warmth.
Dealing with the steam
Water and electricity are a terrible match. We know that. That’s why we tucked everything into IP65-rated enclosures. It’s a tight seal that keeps moisture and steam from sneaking in and frying the circuits. But here’s the thing: because the casing is so sealed to protect the electronics, the air can’t move as freely. This means the outside of the housing can get pretty hot. We use materials that can handle the heat, but just make sure whatever surface you’re mounting it to can take the temperature too.
The trade-offs
Now, these eye-safe lamps aren’t “instant-on” like a raw halogen tube. Those filtering layers we talked about? They add a tiny bit of delay before you hit peak temperature. It’s a small price to pay. You lose a tiny bit of that raw brightness, but you gain a lot of safety and comfort. We’ve wired these to be steady and reliable so they won’t just burn out the moment the room gets humid. One quick tip: if you’re installing these in a really damp area, double-check your voltage drop. You want the filament to hit the right temperature for those filters to actually do their job.
