The Build: Halogen, Coating, and a No-Fuss Connection
Inside, you’ve got a halogen-filled quartz tube. It lets the filament run hotter, so the infrared output stays steady and strong. The tube’s internal coating reflects heat back onto the filament. That stabilizes output and helps the whole thing run more efficiently. And the R7s base? Practical, plain and simple. Slide the tube in and lock it. It keeps the footprint small, handles vibration better than screw-base lamps, and stands up to repeated heating and cooling cycles.
How It Works in the Real World
Mount it on the wall, point it where you need the heat, and wire it to the right voltage. Then you get direct radiant heat that hits targets and surfaces fast—almost no warm-up time. It’s a clean way to deliver warmth without burning energy heating air, which matters when you’re protecting sensitive equipment and keeping the surrounding temperature stable. Now, the trade-off: because the heat is concentrated, the nearby enclosure and components need to be rated for higher temperatures. And the cooling setup has to be sized properly to keep the lamp and wiring within safe limits.
